Our Invisalign Process
Step 1 – Free Consultation
We will perform an oral exam, take x-rays (if needed), and use the iTero digital scanner to capture a 3D impression of your mouth. We will then work together with you to create a treatment plan unique to your smile goals. We will also walk you through cost and payment plans. Our treatment coordinators are very thorough and will be happy to answer any questions you might have!Step 2 – Your Treatment Begins!
A series of custom aligners will be created just for you. You need to wear your aligners 22 hours each day for optimal results, removing them only to brush, floss, and eat. As your treatment progresses, your aligners will gradually begin to shift your teeth into place.Step 3 – You Switch Your Aligners Every Week
You will switch to the next set of aligners in your series every week. Dr. Leeson monitors your case virtually using the Invisalign Care App, which allows you to send progress photos every 3 weeks so he can ensure the trays are fitting well. Once every 3 months you will come into the office for a 20 minute checkup to track your progress in person.Step 4 – You’re Finished Your Aligners
We will take photos of your teeth at the end of treatment and Dr. Leeson will look over the photos with you to ensure you are happy with your results. If there is something you are not happy with, or he determines some fine tuning could result in a better smile, then we will make you a few more trays to wear to perfect your smile. Once you and Dr. Leeson are satisfied, we will make you night time retainers and provide you with complementary whitening so you can brighten up your brand new smile!Are you a candidate for Invisalign?

Accelerated Invisalign with the Aevo System
Do you want or need to finish your Invisalign Treatment faster? With regular Invisalign you can change your trays every 7 days. With the Aevo system you can change your trays every 3-5 days depending on your specific case. The Aevo is a comfortable, flexible mouthpiece that you wear for only 20 minutes a day. It targets the cells in the bone surrounding your teeth using low intensity pulsed ultrasound. This safely accelerates the speed in which you can straighten your teeth.

The most commonly asked questions about Invisalign
How long does treatment take?
Treatment time will vary from patient to patient but typically ranges from 6 to 18 months. With the Aevo system and accelerated Invisalign this treatment time can usually be cut in half! The length of your treatment is determined by: the degree of misalignment of your teeth or jaw and the amount of tooth movement required to correct it.
Is Invisalign treatment painful?
No, when people change to their new set of aligners most describe a tight feeling that lasts for a few hours with the new trays. They should not be painful.
How much will it cost and will my insurance cover it?
The price of Invisalign will depend on the amount of correction that needs to be achieved and typically ranges between $3,000 and $5,900. Remember that Invisalign may be covered by your insurance, one of our treatment coordinators can assist with coverage verification before your treatment begins.
What’s included with the treatment?
Treatment includes all the aligners, and any extra refinement aligners if needed. It also includes a set of night time retainers and take-home whitening gel to brighten your smile at the end of your treatment.
Can my teeth be straightened with Invisalign or do I need braces?
The majority of orthodontic issues can now be treated with Invisalign due to the constant improvement of its proprietary materials and software. At your free consultation we will discuss whether Invisalign is an option for you!
How often do I have to visit the dentist?
Using the Invisalign Virtual Care app Dr. Leeson can monitor your case virtually every 3 weeks using the photos you send through the app. This means you only need to come to the office for an in-person 20 minute visit every three months.
How do I clean my Invisalign aligners?
Invisalign provides cleaning crystals you can use to clean your aligners. But Dr. Leeson finds the two best ways to clean them are:
1. Use mouthwash and a toothbrush to scrub your trays.
2. Fill a small Tupperware container with hydrogen peroxide and shake the trays around inside them.

Do I have to take out my aligners to drink coffee?
No! You can keep your trays in. Just remember to remove your trays and rinse them, and your teeth, immediately after. Red wine, coffee, and tea will eventually stain your aligners but you only wear them for a week, and then get a fresh new set to use.
What if I play sports and need a mouthguard?
Dr. Leeson suggests you purchase a boil and bite mouthguard, heat it, and mold it over top of your previous Invisalign tray (the heat can distort the aligner so you don’t want to use your current tray). You can repeat this process every 5 trays or when you notice the mouthguard not fitting well.
